작가 머리말

특별할 것 없는 하루하루에서 건져 올린 사진과 글의 기록이다. 

카메라를 들고 나선 것이 아니라, 살아가다 문득 멈춰 선 순간들이었다. 

그 옆에 놓인 글 역시 사진을 설명하기 위한 것이 아니라, 

그 순간이 지나간 자리에 남은 생각의 잔여물에 가깝다.

사진과 글은 항상 서로를 완성하지는 않는다. 

어떤 때는 오히려 각자의 방식으로 같은 하루를 다르게 통과하기도 한다. 

이 간극이야말로 일상을 기록하는 유일하게 정직한 방법이라고 생각한다. 

그저 내 생각이었고, 그저 내 행위였다. 

거기서 나온 작은 잔여물의 기록이다.

Artist's Note

This is a record of photographs and writings gathered from otherwise unremarkable days.

I did not go out with a camera in hand — these were moments where I simply stopped, mid-life, without meaning to.
The words placed beside them are not there to explain the photographs either;
they are closer to what remains of a thought, after the moment itself has passed.

The photograph and the writing do not always complete one another.
At times, each passes through the same day in its own way, taking a different route.
I believe this very gap is the only honest way to record the everyday.
It was simply my thought, simply my act.
What follows is a record of the small residue left behind.

-Started a blog in 2008-
